Intentional Moment:

Mail Postcards

When traveling, make it a habit to send a postcard home to your children. A simple note saying, "I love you, from . . . " can make a large impact!

These days, kids love getting mail! Why not get them excited for mail and write them a note too? The best part is, you do not have to be away from your child. If your child is traveling with you, do this as well. Depending on the timing of the trip, the postcard will be there at home waiting on you! This is just one more little intentional item you can do to show your son or daughter you love them and are always thinking of them no matter how far away (or not)!

Related Intentional Moments:

Create a chain out of scraps of paper, write notes, thoughts, what you are thankful for, personal encouragement, what you love about your children, what you want to improve on as a father. Each day, make it part of your routine, sit down with your child, tear off the next chain in the link, and talk about what is written!

On a daily or weekly basis, send little reminders to your child that you are thinking about them, care about them, and love them! Slip notes, drawings, inside jokes into their lunches for a smile during the day.
