The world moves fast. Stressors are everywhere. There is a lot required of us as humans day to day. A lot is required as parents. I want to speak on my repeated personal mission of being an appreciative father of my children. They are a blessing. One of if not the greatest blessings in my life. I wanted to share my thoughts on my efforts to honor this.

Compared to generations past, in a new age of parenting, parents are spending a lot more time with their children. Overall this is a wonderful thing. We also attempt to demand oversight to dictate their learning, their play, their games and the reactions to the occurrence. I have been guilty at times of being a “helicopter parent” with the intention of protecting my child, or making sure they play a certain way. We did it. Planned 6 months. Saved, furtively bought plane tickets, hotel room, and park passes. We took our kids to Disneyland.

To make a better world we need youth of character. That means we as parents must practice it first.
