Car Work

The next time you do a vehicle check, bring out a stool for your children to observe what you are doing.

Orient them to what portions of the engine there are and what they do. Have them help you fill fluids, check tires, move tools to include them in the work. This gives them responsibility and confidence as they get better at the completion of the chore.
