I'm writing this today because I had to audibly say these words to myself this morning.

Most of the day was spent outside digging in the dirt, splashing in the water play table, or walking through mud.

It's so easy for me to seclude my boys to the non-muddy part of the yard or to not put water in the play table. I know it will only lead to more work before we head inside to ensure we don't leave a trail all the way to the shower.

However, I'm extremely fortunate to have such an encouraging wife that simply reminds me that everything can be cleaned.

Even if we do bring in mud, the floors can be mopped.
If the boys clothes get wet, they can take them off and hang them out to dry.
If dirt is shoveled into the patio, it can be swept.

Yes, more energy may be exuded at the end of the day, but even more fun will be had. Embrace the moment and enjoy the fun. Heck, go ahead and jump in the mud with them!

What a memory it will make.
